The TV presenter was dropped from The Martin Lewis Money Show in 2023 after six years as co-host
TV presenter Angellica Bell became emotional on Celebrity Big Brother as she opened up about her departure from The Martin Lewis Money Show in 2023.
In Tuesday night’s episode, the 49-year-old broke down in the Diary Room after Big Brother asked if she had enjoyed waking the house with her early morning pot-and-pan antics.
Laughing, Angellica said it felt “so good” to annoy fellow housemate Donna Preston, before her tone shifted as she reflected on how far she had come in the competition.
“I’m going to be honest with you, I didn’t think I’d get this far. I’m still pinching myself that I’m here,” she said, holding back tears.
When Big Brother responded with, “Big Brother thinks you’re a great housemate,” Angellica grew emotional and admitted, “I’m not very good at compliments.”
Becoming emotional, she continued: “I’ve loved every minute, it’s probably the best thing I’ve done in a long time. Before I came in here, I was a little bit scared.
“The press were asking me if I would talk about The Martin Lewis Show and stuff—it took me a long time to get over that.
“I was so grateful to all of the audience who messaged me about it, also to other celebrities who contacted me and stuff, because those messages are what got me through,” she continued.
“That’s why I wanted to come onto this show and tap into my old self, because it’s taken me a long time.”
Big Brother reassured her: “Angellica, Big Brother thinks you're doing really well.”
“You know what,” she replied, “I think I found myself again being here.”
Angellica was dropped from The Martin Lewis Money Show in 2023 after six years as co-host.
She had joined the popular ITV programme in 2017 and was known for guiding viewers through money-saving tips alongside the financial expert.
Her departure was sudden and, according to reports at the time, linked to a “conflict of interest.” She was replaced by former Olympian and broadcaster Jeanette Kwakye.
An ITV spokesperson said at the time: “Angellica is not working on The Martin Lewis Money Show Live, however, the relationship with her remains amicable and we are working with her on other forthcoming programmes.”
Since then, she has gone on to host Channel 5’s Shop Smart, Save Money, a reboot of The Gadget Show.
