Ekin-Su Opens Up: The Real Reason Behind Her Return to Love Island Post-Celeb Big Brother Backlash trucc

Ekin-Su has revealed WHY she went back onto Love Island following the backlash she received when appearing on Celebrity Big Brother.

Last year, the 30-year-old entered the Celebrity Big Brother house, and was the fourth housemate to be evicted.

However, the Love Island star faced a lot of hate with people booing her as she left the house.

Due to the backlash, many fans were surprised to see her return to the Love Island All Stars villa.

Speaking to Jamie Laing on his podcast, Great Company, Ekin confessed she wanted to go back on the show to “rewrite her story.”

She said: “So, I said to myself, I’m not going to do reality TV after Big Brother ever again. I was like, not doing it again. I was very like, no, I’m not going to go, but I would never do Love Island but actually, I was only saying that because Love Island reminds me of my ex.”

“So, I was defensive because of that. No one understood that. So, when I went back in, they were like, but she said she would never do Love Island again.”

“Yeah, it’s because I didn’t want to be reminded of my ex, because I was in pain, not because I was against the show,” Ekin reiterated.

“And the reason I wanted to go back onto All Stars is because I felt like I want to rewrite my love story. I said I wanted to go have fun and let all these barriers down.”

“Okay, stop being so scared of TV again, go back to something and take a risk, like, what’s gonna happen again? The worst you’re gonna get dumped. I’ve done that. I’ve experienced my lows. It’s only onwards and upwards from here. And look, I met someone. So, I’m so grateful.”

“And I always say, just because you’re on a show doesn’t make you any better than anyone else. You can always go back, because there’s always a thing. Well, she won the show. She’s done this. You can go back.”

The reality star spoke to Jamie about the hate she received, confessing it had been so severe she would “cry for hours.”

She explained: ‘It was a very low point I felt, because I already felt worthless going in the house, coming out to a lot of hate and death threats and people saying, you know, like, you don’t deserve to be alive.”

“I’m going to come and find you and kill you, like all these really nasty things, like, you should be ashamed to be who you are. You deserve to be bullied. It is triggering. It triggers things.”

“But then I remember having this phone call, and someone said, ”Ekin please speak to a therapist,’ I’m shaking talking about it, but I said no. And they were like, no, you need to speak to a therapist. I don’t think you’re okay, you’ve not left your flat, you’re not eating, you’re not you’re not yourself,” Ekin confessed.

“I had my therapy session, and after that one session, I kind of they were like, right. You need you need to take yourself away for a week self-care. You need to switch off your phone and realize that Ekin you’re you haven’t done anything wrong. Like the feeling is temporary. It’s not real. This depression, it’s not real. It’s not who you are.”

“I believed that I deserved the booing. And it took me a while to even do Love Island All Stars. I was very 50/50,” she continued.

“You know, after you’ve just done a show, that was my last show, I was like. So I just took it, took the took the sort of risk, and for, you know what? Just do it. Go back to something that you were from, that you were yourself on.”
