The Washington Capitals will have Dylan Strome in their lineup against the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night.
Strome took the team’s morning skate at MedStar Capitals Iceplex after missing practice on Monday due to an illness. Head coach Spencer Carbery confirmed his status during his pregame media availability.
Now in his third season in Washington, Strome has missed just one game since joining the Caps and is on track for another full 82-game season this year. The 28-year-old forward is the team’s leading scorer with 65 points (21g, 44a) through 67 games. He has 19 points (9g, 10a) in his last 18 games.
Strome assisted on Jakob Chychrun’s game-winning goal against the Red Wings in the Capitals’ 5-2 win against Detroit on March 7. He has 18 points (8g, 10a) in 21 career games against the Red Wings.
Ethen Frank, who was also out sick on Monday, joined Strome back on the ice for Tuesday’s morning skate, though Carbery did not provide an update on his status. Frank is expected to be scratched for a fifth straight game.
Projected lineup against Red Wings
The Red Wings recently snapped a six-game losing streak and have won two of their last three contests. They are two points behind the New York Rangers for the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference with one game in hand.
Detroit has been unable to beat the Caps in the two teams’ previous meetings this season, losing both games by a combined 9-4 score.
