During an exclusive chat with The Daily Dish on January 16, Wendy spilled all about her engagement ring from Eddie. When Eddie popped the question in May 2010, he offered the RHOP 'wife a princess-cut diamond ring. Nowadays, Wendy often sports her "anniversary upgrade ring," but she does swap it out for the original from time to time.
Eddie didn't need any guidance when he selected the sparkler. "He picked it out. It was a princess cut, and it was flanked with diamonds on the band. So beautiful. I just wore it the other day," she continued. "It's still as gorgeous as ever."
Wendy Osefo reflects on the day Eddie proposed
Wendy opened up about her elaborate Maryland wedding — which included not one but four outfit changes for them both. First, though, she revealed the adorable way that Eddie popped the question.
"I will never forget it was the day after my 26th birthday," Wendy shared with us. "He had a birthday dinner for me, which was a surprise. And I remember he took me to the hotel."
The hotel, Wendy pointed out, happened to be the same one the ladies went to when they discussed Stacey Rusch's mediation on RHOP Season 9, Episode 9.
When Wendy got to the hotel, she discovered that Eddie had booked them a room, and that he had brought a makeup artist there to get her ready for dinner. Once she was ready, the surprises kept coming.
"When I walked into the private dining area, it was my family and members of his family and my close friends. And they all went, 'Surprise!' I said, 'This is great. A birthday dinner.'
"Then at the end of the dinner he held my hand, [and] took me to the front of the room. He said, 'In front of the people you love the most, I want to ask you to take my last name.' And he got down on one knee," she continued about the proposal. "And then after I said yes, and everybody gave us the love, [and] a white horse and carriage pulled up to the hotel. [It] took us for a ride around Washington DC."
The mom of three said that the proposal was a total surprise, but that there was one major sign that Eddie was feeling some pressure beforehand.
"He was nervous on our ride to the hotel. 'Cause we stopped for breakfast, and breakfast is Eddie’s favorite meal of the day," Wendy said. "And he ate nothing, and I was like, 'Huh, this is curious.'"
Dr. Wendy Osefo and Eddie Osefo each wore four outfits to their wedding
About 15 months after the romantic proposal, Wendy and Eddie tied the knot in Maryland in front of 150 people.
"We had four different outfit changes. It was amazing," she said about the "white church wedding."
Sharing details about each of the ensembles, Wendy said, "[They were] coordinated looks. We had to have the outfit to dance into the reception hall with, then you had the traditional Nigerian outfit, then you had the other outfit that we wanted to do our final dance with. It was a lot."
