Denise Welch of Loose Women has recently addressed rumours about tensions between her ITV colleagues, stressing the strong camaraderie they all share.
The 66-year-old actress and presenter appeared on ITV's This Morning this Wednesday (March 5), joined by fellow Loose Woman Jane Moore.
While talking to hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley about their new podcast, Denise spoke candidly about their ability to delve deeper into topics and the initial success of their Loose Women audio venture.
But it was when Cat highlighted the seamless rapport among the women despite regular disagreements on-air, that Denise clarified things can be misconstrued, reports the Mirror.
Cat commented: "As a woman watching that show, I love it that you can really disagree and then you're the best of mates."
Denise quickly responded, stating: "We never even talk about it off stage, no!"
Denise, also known for her role on Coronation Street, stressed: "It's so ridiculous! I'm 67 this year. If you think I would voluntarily come into a job with a toxic environment, I wouldn't! I don't have to and I wouldn't!"
Emphasising their harmonious work relationship, she further shared: "We have never had a row in all the years that we've worked! Me and Carol McGiffin used to have some hong dingers on there but we never talked about when we got off stage. People like to pit women against each other."
Denise's comments sparked mixed reactions from viewers, with some expressing uncertainty. One viewer commented: "Jeez! Own opinions?? Didn't Charlene [White] have to give Denise a telling off 'on-air' last week over her comments on a subject??"
Another viewer responded harshly, stating: "Toxic femininity also exists. You only need to watch Loose Women to see it in action."
Meanwhile, fans can now tune in to the first episode of Loose Women: The Podcast on ITVX. The episode's description reads: "In our first episode of Loose Women: The Podcast, Denise Welch and Ayda Field Williams discuss addiction, surrogacy, motherhood and Hollywood crushes!"
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV1
