Dancing with the Stars Tour Opening Night Postponed Due to Unforeseen Circumstances trucc

January 7 was supposed to be the opening night of the “Dancing With the Stars” tour, but the show has been postponed.

“Due to the ongoing water outages and conserve water advisory in the city of Richmond, VA, we regret to announce that we have had to reschedule our show at the Altria Theater tonight to tomorrow night Wed. Jan. 8th,” read a message posted on the live tour’s official Instagram page.

“All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new date. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We are sending our best wishes and thoughts to everyone in the city impacted by this incident. We can’t wait to kick off this tour and will see you all tomorrow night,” the message continued.

The “Dancing With the Stars“ tour will open on January 8. Shows will run through April, with the last show scheduled for April 6, 2025, in Hollywood, California.

The DWTS tour needed to be rescheduled due to after effects of a winter storm that blew through the area on Monday, January 6.

Per ABC News, the Richmond water treatment plant lost power which resulted in a “malfunction of the IT system,” which caused a flood. The water production issue has been fixed, but residents in the area have been advised to boil water before use.

The storm that affected the area was caused by a polar vortex, according to NBC News. Kansas, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Virginia saw decent snowfall, extremely cold temperatures, and widespread power outages.

It seems unlikely that opening night of the tour will be rescheduled further.

DWTS Fans Reacted to the News About the Tour on Instagram

“Dancing With the Stars” fans had mixed reactions to the postponement. Some people who live in the area are happy to see that the decision was made for safety reasons. Others, however, found themselves totally bummed because they won’t be able to attend the rescheduled date.

“What ever happened to ‘the show must go on’?” one person commented on the announcement.

“This is the best decision! thank you for keeping everyone safe,” someone else wrote.

“Thank you for not canceling. See you tomorrow. Stay safe,” a third Instagram user said.

“Ugh I’m so sad 🙁 will we be refunded? I can’t take off work again,” read a fourth comment.

“It’s so bad here in Virginia so I completely respect your decision,” another social media user weighed in.
