Dancing with the Stars Shakes Things Up: Major Schedule Change Ahead of Season Premiere Leaves Fans in Confusion trucc

Rumors have circulated about who will join the cast, as the full lineup has yet to be announced.

DANCING with the Stars has significantly changed its schedule ahead of the Season 33 premiere.

The show's new season airs on September 17 on ABC and Disney+.

However, adjustments have already been made to the network's show lineup, which will impact DWTS in a big way.

While the premiere will go on as scheduled, the episode initially slated for October 1 will be preempted.

The move is to accommodate the Vice Presidential debate between Governor Tim Walz and Sen. J.D. Vance, which will take place that day.

DWTS will instead have a two-night event the following week, October 7 and October 8, to make up for it.

Fans expressed their confusion on social media over the switch and wondered how it would affect voting on the reality series.

"So no elimination after the first night of the back to back? Add the scores and voting and eliminate one the next night or a double elimination?" one fan asked on X.

BALLROOM DEBUT

In typical fashion, the new DWTS cast will be announced on Good Morning America on September 4.

Last week, the season's first contestant was revealed to be U.S. Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik.

The 25-year-old shared the news on GMA, teasing that he might include some tricks in his dance routines.

Earlier this week, Stephen shared a photo on Instagram of him and his girlfriend traveling to Los Angeles for the show.

While the rest of the cast is unknown, fans have suspicions about who might join this season.

Several other U.S. Olympians have been rumored to compete in the series, following in the footsteps of other decorated athletes, including Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Mary Lou Retton, and Ryan Lochte.

Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce has also been suspected of joining the cast.

A source told The U.S. Sun earlier this month that Jason was "mulling" over the idea of being on the show after receiving an invite.

The insider noted that the NFL star's participation would require some scheduling maneuvering, but he was very open to the possibility.

Golden Bachelorette star Joan Vassos, Vanderpump Rules' Tom Sandoval, and Love Island USA's Leah Kateb were also rumored cast members for this season.

Leah joked about the chatter by sharing a TikTok of her attempting to do the stanky leg dance with her costars.

She laughed that the video was her "audition for DWTS."

One person who was confirmed not to be on the show is DWTS pro Artem Chigvintsev, who was arrested for domestic battery earlier this week in Napa.

Artem met his wife, former WWE superstar Nikki Bella, while partnered on the show during Season 25.
