Mrs Brown's Boys actor Danny O'Carroll and his professional partner Salome Chachua finished off the show tonight for the second show of the new season.

The pair did the Charleston to Don't Blame It On Me by Michael Buble and got amazing reviews by the judging panel, ,Brian Redmond, Loraine Barry, Arthur Gourounlian and Karen Byrne.

Brian said: "I'm genuinely struggling to find things to comment in here that are negative.

"I think maybe just more self-belief and that might come from performances like that. The only thing I'd say to you is I think you should go and pick up that cloth, because if you can keep dancing like that, you could be cleaning up for a while to go."

Karen was smiling from ear-to-ear as she gushed: "I was so excited to see this because Charleston is a very challenging dance, and I was wondering how is Danny going to manage this one?

"But you know what, Danny? You were there every single time she needed you. The swivels were there. I'm actually lost for words because it was so good."

Loraine remarked: "That's exactly what I call a fully loaded Charleston with high octane energy. And the fact that you incorporated those props seamlessly in is incredible. Well done."

Arthur added: "I have to say, Salome has a lot of faith in you, throwing herself into you like that. And you can handle anything now thrown at you, to be honest with you. What a joy, Danny boy!"

And the Dublin native managed to get a score of nine from every judge, which got him a total of 36 points - the highest so far this season.

Brian also explained that he "never" gave a nine so early in a series before.

And while most RTE viewers thought Danny did an amazing performance, some fans shared their surprise and thought other contestants deserved higher points.
