After two rounds of competition on Tuesday night’s semi-finals of Dancing with the Stars season 33, the ballroom dance/reality competition series pulled the same fast one as they did last year.
At first, the hosts, Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, announced that the couples dancing in the finale were: Danny Amendola & Witney Carson, Joey Graziadei & Jenna Johnson, and Chandler Kinney & Brandon Armstrong. That left, (at least that is what we were led to believe), Ilona Maher & Alan Bersten and Stephen Nedoroscik & Rylee Arnold in the bottom two.
However, after much suspense, it was revealed that no one was going home and all five couples would be dancing next week for the Len Goodman Mirror Ball Trophy in the three-hour season finale!
Now, the question becomes, will Joey become the first ‘Bachelor’ to ever take home the Mirror Ball Trophy? Will Stephen be the first male Olympic gymnast to do so? Many questions to be answered. However, in last night’s two rounds of competition, which included a Latin dance, and Ballroom routine, the competitors brought the fight and laid it all out on the floor.
In the Latin round, Chandler and Brandon performed a Salsa to Spicy Margarita by Jason Derulo & Michael Buble and scored a 29 out of 30 from the judges. Ilona and Alan performed a Paso Doble to Unholy (Orchestral Version), by Sam Smith & Kim Petras and also scored a 29 out of 30. Stephen and Rylee performed a Cha-cha-cha to Bailar by Deorro f. Elvis Crespo. They scored 25 out of 30 from the judges.
Continuing on from the Latin dance round, Joey and Jenna performed a Paso doble to Come Together by the Beatles. They scored 29 out of 30, and finally Danny and Witney, performed a Salsa to I Like It by Cardi B, Bad Bunny & J Balvin. The couple scored a 28 out of 30.
Now, on to the Ballroom round, Joey and Jenna received a perfect 30 from the judges for their Foxtrot to I Won’t Dance by Erin Boheme f. District 78. Danny and Witney took on dancing the Viennese waltz to John Mayer’s Gravity, and scored a 27 out of 30. Next, Chandler and Brandon wowed in their rendition of the Foxtrot to the tune, Too Sweet by Hozier; receiving 29 out of 30 from the judges. Ilona and Alan danced the Viennese waltz to the song, Golden Hour by Jvke. They scored a 29 out of 30. Finally, Stephen and Rylee performed the Tango to Sweet Disposition by The Temper Trap, and came away with a 29 out of 30.
Dancing with the Stars live three-hour finale airs next Tuesday November 26th at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and streams on Disney+
