Dancing with the Stars Fans Stumped by Surprising Connection Among Former Politician Contestants trucc

Dancing With the Stars fans are curious about a specific common trait that political contestants on the show have all shared.

Dancing With the Stars fans are reminiscing about the show as they wait for Season 34 later this year, and doing so has caused some fans to now express their confusion over something peculiar they’ve noticed about one group of contestants that has featured on the show over the years.

While the ABC show has sometimes admitted to making “horrifying mistakes” with its celebrity cast, it has refused to shy away from controversy either.

That has included bringing convicted criminals on the show, like Anna Delvey in Season 33, who was slammed as “desperate to be famous” after her elimination.

Of course, criminals aren’t the only controversial picks, as politicians have also featured on the show over the years–and this is where some fans are starting to scratch their heads.

Taking to Reddit, one questioned why all those who are politicians or known for their political views on the show have been Republicans.

Lindsay Arnold Sean Spicer

“I notice the show never had a Democratic politician do the show. I get the Karens usually lean right wing but it’s weird they never got a Democratic politician to do the show because honestly they probably would be better dancers than the Republican politicians,” one person wrote.

While the person also noted that they aren’t a fan of political contestants in general, they would be behind liberal ones appearing–leadng many to comment about why the show has favored conservatives.

“DWTS’ primary audience, at least back in the day, skewed more conservative,” one person wrote. “It’s started to change with the contestants they’ve had more recently, but I remember Tom Delay did the show because he was a huge fan, and he kept advocating for Sara Evans to continue on the show (before she quit) because he kept mentioning God and her politics.”

“Prob bc most of Pros are republican,” another said.

Tucker Carlson DWTS

“Because one party is focused on doing their jobs and the other is focused on getting rich and seeking attention,” another commented.

The show has had former Donald Trump Press Secretary Sean Spicer, former Texas Governor Rick Perry and former House Speaker Tom DeLay as competitors over the years.

There have also been known conservative pundits and celebrities with documented conservative views on the show as well.

They include Geraldo Rivera, Bristol Palin, Candace Cameron Bure, Antoni Sabato Jr, Kirstie Alley, John Schneider and Tucker Carlson.
