As TOWIE returns, the couple open up about their rocky romance
Back for its 35th series, the TOWIE gang jetted off to sunny Bali. But while it sounds like it was a drama-filled trip, Dan Edgar, 34, and Ella Rae Wise, 24 – who have been very on/off since they first started dating last year – managed to avoid any conflict, revealing they’re finally on the ‘right road’.
Here, they reveal what else we can expect this season…
The last series ended on the bombshell that Junaid Ahmed and Joe Blackman broke up. How’s filming been this time for everyone?
Ella: Everyone was in high spirits, as they’d all had time to get their head around stuff. At first, it was a lot for people to digest that Joe and Junaid weren’t together – we wouldn’t be normal people if we weren’t shocked. But we’re ready to start afresh.
And how is everything going between you two?
Dan: This time is different for me and Ella. We’re putting more effort in. We said over Christmas that we should give things a go. There’s obvious chemistry we can’t deny, and we do keep gravitating towards each other. She came to support me on the first episode of Dancing On Ice, which I thought was nice.
E: We are really happy when we’re around each other. Then, when we go home, the communication gets lost. Dan gets busy, and I get busy. I’m here, there and everywhere with what I do. I’ve got so many friends and I’m close to my family, too, so I have to find time for everyone. It’s about balancing my time. We’re seeing where it goes, and we’re on the right road.
Dan, you had to stay in the UK for DOI. Were you sad to miss going to Bali?
D: It’s the first TOWIE trip I’ve missed in 10 years, and I was gutted. This series marks 10 years I’ve been on the show, too. I would have loved to be there, but I had an amazing opportunity to do something with Dancing On Ice. I’m loving every minute of it.
And how did you find Bali, Ella?
E: I was excited to go, but I was sad that Dan wasn’t going to be there. I thought I’d feel a bit lost without him, but I knew it was good for me to mingle with everyone else. Normally, if Dan is there, I don’t speak to Girl Band [Amber Turner, Courtney Green, Chloe Meadows, and Elma Pazar]. I’m not saying we’ll be best of friends, but we might have more common ground.
