DAN Edgar has broken his silence after his shock Dancing On Ice elimination last night.

Towie star Dan, 34, found himself in the skate-off with retired footballer Anton Ferdinand, 40, but didn't manage to make it through.

Judges Oti Mabuse, Ashley Banjo and Jayne Torvill all voted to save Anton, with Christopher Dean conceding he would have made the same decision too.

Just a few hours after being booted off, Dan took to Instagram and wrote: "Just want to say thank you to everyone for the support and everyone involved."

He added: "Very grateful, enjoyed the whole experience."

Earlier in the night, initial frontrunner Dan shared a photo with his pro skating partner Vanessa James and wrote: "Semi-finals."

Some fans were left furious at the result, ranting on social media that Anton had 'messed up' in his routine.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one wrote: "How can that happen with a stumble? Total fix."

Someone else agreed: "wtaf? Wooden Anton nearly falls over again after lurching around the rink like a wobbly toddler and still gets through? Methinks Dan's upset somebody high up."

Another had said during his skate: "Ohhh Anton messed up there."

Michaela Strachan and Sam Aston had been competing for a place in the highly-coveted final next week too.

Michaela and her skating partner Mark Hanretty were awarded perfect 10s from Ashley, Oti, Jayne, and Chris, with a 9 for their solo challenge, bringing their total to 49.0.

Sam and Molly Lanaghan received a similar 10 from Ashley, Oti, and Chris, but Jayne gave them a 9.5, and their solo challenge score was a 9, bringing their total to 48.0.

Dan and Vanessa James were given a 9.5 from Ashley, a perfect 10 from Oti, and 9s from Jayne and Chris, but their solo challenge score of 6 dropped their total to 43.5.

And Anton and Annette Dytrt received a consistent 9.5 from all the judges, but their solo challenge score of 7 left them with a total of 45.0.

But those watching at home ranted about the generous results on X.

One tweeted: "The scoring is mad, the standard of skating isn't as good as it used to be is it?"

Another added: "How the hell could @OtiMabuse Give him a 10 for that???? Clear bias. Sacked."

Someone else agreed: "What planet is Oti on? That was never a ten," while a fourth said: "What was Oti watching? A 10?"
