Celebrity Big Brother’s Chris Hughes shut down claims over his friendship with JoJo Siwa moments after being evicted from the house.
Former Love Island star Chris and pop star JoJo have been a major talking point of the series, with the pair becoming unlikely friends.
Appearing alongside each other for the bulk of the season, fans remained stunned by their unlikely friendship heading into Friday night’s (April 25) final.
Chris and JoJo’s friendship began when he defended her after Mickey Rourke made comments about her sexuality, which he was given a formal warning for at the time.
From then, the pair have been inseparable, often seen having late night chats in their beds as the other housemates attempted to get some sleep.
Chris was the first contestant to be evicted in the final, finishing in sixth place just behind singer Chesney Hawkes.
Quizzed by presenters Will Best and AJ Odudu after the final, Chris said: “I know what I’m like as a human being and I wanted people that make me feel like I’m in a house not like the Big Brother house…
"I want to not take life too seriously, when you start taking everything too seriously you get caught up in all different kinds of emotions.
“JoJo was like a pure rock to me, someone I can fun with. I had fun with her every day. That to me in a beautiful friendship."
He added: “The thing that fascinated me the most was what she’s come through and been through when she was a teenager, that’s similar to what my ex-girlfriend went through.
"I mean in the respect that she went through a lot and is purely a nice person. The similarities are in the personalities.. Of course I love her."
Asked if there were any tactics involved in becoming her friend, Chris replied: “We were just messing around, having fun…
"Why would I not want to get along with people in a house, everyone will naturally go towards someone.
"I want to spend time with someone who makes me feel at home and forget we’re on a TV show… It’s a friendship that’s only going to get stronger.”
Whether Chris and JoJo’s friendship continues moving forward remains to be seen, but viewers will never forget their antics on the show.
