Candiace Dillard Bassett has been a mom to her son, Jett Maxwell Lee Bassett, for three months, and she is still experiencing so many firsts with her baby boy. The Real Housewives of Potomac alum gave birth to her son on October 3 and has been enjoying all of the joys the winter season has to offer with her little one — from decorating for Christmas to enjoying the change of weather.
Candiace took to her Instagram Story earlier this week where she revealed that it had snowed at her Maryland house. The "Drive Back" singer and her husband, Chris Bassett, put on their winter coats and hats to explore the winter wonderland outside of the front door. But this snow day was extra special, thanks to the addition of Jett. In the photo, Chris can be seen holding Jett up to the camera (as a snowflake emoji covered his face), while Candiace is all smiles for the camera. "Jetty Baby First Snow!" Candiace captioned the sweet photo, along with a snowflake emoji.
Candiace Dillard Bassett explains why she's not showing her baby's face
Although Candiace is more than happy to share these "firsts" with her Instagram followers, she isn't showing Jett's face on camera. Candiace appeared on Fox 5's Motivation with Melissa in December, where she explained why she is not posting Jett's face to Instagram.
"It just feels so special to have him all to ourselves, but in the same vein, I know there's so many people that rooted for us and prayed for us and are excited for us and are excited at the prospect of us having a child, that I knew I wanted to share with the world that he's here...but I'm also aware of how interesting the world can be, and how scary the world can be," she explained. "And I just want to keep him safe for as long as I can. And protect him for as long as I can."
But, she does plan on showing his face in the future, when she is ready. "Of course, eventually, we will see him," she said. "You will see him soon."
Candiace Dillard Bassett explains why she "loved" being pregnant
Candiace has stated that she does want more kids in the future and in a Nov. 17 interview with People, she revealed that she "loved" being pregnant with Jett. "I loved being pregnant, which is also a shock because I thought I was going to hate it," she explained. "And I was so afraid of being sick and not accepting the changes in my body and just all of the unknown things you read about. And it was literally the complete opposite. I loved every bit of my pregnancy. It was the most amazing experience ever. I almost mourn the fact that I'm not pregnant anymore because I loved it so much."
