Candiace Dillard Bassett’s latest hair refresh was a rollercoaster of emotions.
The Real Housewives of Potomac alum shared the experience via Instagram this week when she posted several videos of her at-home weave removal. Candiace suggested the reset was long overdue, as her last install was several months ago when she was still pregnant with baby No. 1.
Candiace shares a look inside her haircare process
“OK, shoutout to sisters that come over to take your weave out that’s been in since before you gave birth,” she said in the January 16 video. “Please also ignore the gap tooth in my [eye]lash. Christian, I’m coming to get my lashes done. Shoutout to Winkd Lash in Silver Spring, [Maryland]. Go get your lashes lashed.”
As her sister, Crystal, carefully removed the bundles from her hair, the former Housewife took the time to promote her wig and extensions company, Prima Hair Collection. Candiace confirmed she was rocking the Kulali Indian Curly bundles that were customized by her go-to stylist, Stephanie Harris.
“I’m just so sad because look at how pretty these curls are,” Candiace said. “This is blown out, processed with color — shoutout to Steph the hair queen; she did the color, custom color… I’m so sad to take this out. This has been in since before I gave birth, so before October 3. And this is the second or third install with this hair.”
Candiace gushes over her Prima Hair Collection bundles
Candiace explained that the hair not only looked good but also low-maintenance. She gushed over the fact that her curls were still intact despite not using a curling iron in more than a week. She also pointed out that the bundles blended “really well” with her Type 4 hair (curl pattern).
“Just look how pretty,” she said about the long tresses. “First of all, look at how pretty it takes color… And just look at the curl. This is what it will give you when you blow it out and just want to hit it with a barrel iron. I’m so sad. I’m gonna miss y’all! Oh my goodness… All drama aside. I’m gonna miss her. I’m gonna miss this hair.”
Candiace then encouraged viewers to visit the Prima Hair Collection website and take advantage of her Candy15 discount code.
“Get you some Kulali Indian Curly bundles at Primahaircollection.com and live your best life,” she said from her glam room. “Be moisturized and bundled, OK? Because it’s bundle season. I’m a bundle queen.”
Candiace admits she's "nervous" about postpartum shedding
Candiace shared the update as she approaches her fourth month of motherhood. On October 3, 2024, she and her husband, Chris Bassett, welcomed their first child — a baby boy named Jett Maxwell Lee Bassett.
The former ’Wife confessed she had been slacking in the grooming department ever since she gave birth.
“And get into my postpartum shedding. I’m a bald baddie and my nail’s missing,” she joked. “Do you see me? I am never this decrepit. I gotta gather my lash, I’m missing my nail, and I’m bald. But I’m a mother.”
She continued: “I’m really nervous about this postpartum shedding. So I think I might take you on this journey with me so we can cry together. “
