Brookside star Jennifer Ellison flashes abs after 5st weight loss in plunging gown ngocc

Jennifer Ellison looked incredible as she showed off her svelte figure in a plunging, jewel-encrusted gown at the National Diversity Awards in Liverpool on Friday

Jennifer Ellison, famed for her role in the Channel 4 soap Brookside, dazzled at the National Diversity Awards held at Liverpool Cathedral on Friday 4 October.

Gracing the event in a glittering jewel-encrusted evening gown that flaunted her svelte figure, the celebrity was accompanied by her hubby Rob Tickle. Stars such as songstress Shola Ama who serenaded the attendees host Clare Balding, Coronation Street's Channique Sterling-Brown, Loose Women's Kelle Bryan, and MAFS standout Matt Jameson graced the occasion.

Previously opening up about her weight, Jennifer, 41, has faced her battles, slimming down from a size 18 to a trim size 10 within a three-month period back in 2017. Spilling the beans to Lorraine during her AM show, Jennifer recalled her peak weight post-pregnancy with her third son Charlie in 2015.

At the time, Jennifer declared: "I don't care about trolls. What I look like is not a priority." She further expressed: "My husband still looks at me the way he did when I was nine stone, after doing my fitness DVD. I'm happy and feel so loved. He thinks I'm the sexiest woman in the world.

"So I'm not worried, because he finds me as attractive as he always did and he loves my bum and my boobs. If he turned round and said I didn't look too good, I would do more about it but he thinks I'm stunning. Love is blind."

Yet, she joined the cast of Sugar Free Farm by late 2015 and began shedding pounds. Come 2017, she showcased her new figure proudly and shared on Instagram : "Ok so today was measurements day! ! ! So proud to say I've lost a further massive 6.5 inches of body fat in a month! And today I felt brave enough to take a pic after training without a big baggy top over! ! ! I've gone from a size 18 to a 10 in just over 3 months."

She added: "I still have a long way to go to get back to what I was but 2 stone lighter and 27 inches of body fat later I'm feeling SOOOO much better! Thanks to the most amazing trainer ever Tony Swift for keeping our sessions amazing and challenging and to my training partner Rob Tickle who's absolutely smashing the results too."

Moving forward, Jennifer took on a new challenge in the 2022 series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, where she faced injuries including a ruptured spleen and broken ribs as well as a lung infection, branding her experience as "inhumane."

She detailed to the Daily Star: "After I jumped from a helicopter, I hit my ribs and then I could feel a pain in my side. When I got back to the UK it was getting worse, so I went to A&E. They told me, 'You've got broken ribs, blood in your lung and a bleeding spleen'. The infection in my lung was really nasty."

She further expressed her fear about her health on the show, stating, "There were times when I worried about dying. It was the worst pain imaginable."
