Big Brother star 'trapped' in house after being asked to leave immediately live on-air trucc

Dean Smith was the fifth housemate to be evicted from the Big Brother house and the presenter was forced to wait even longer than usual as a technical blunder struck

Big Brother's Dean Smith has finally broken his silence after being the fifth contestant to make their way out of Britain's most talked-about household.

Presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best returned to our screens on Friday (November 1), for the latest tension-filled eviction night which left the housemates and viewers on edge following a shocking round of face-to-face nominations.

Following the nail-biting count of the public votes, it was revealed that Dean had garnered the fewest cheers from viewers at home and received his marching orders from Big Brother to pack up posthaste.

Exiting to a waiting live crowd, the ousted contestant sat down with AJ and Will for a brief chat before trotting off to the Late and Live studio for a deeper dive into his experience in the spotlight.

Dean's departure came on the heels of Martha Church, Izaak Miah, Daze Aghaji and Ryan Bradshaw, who were previously sent packing in the series, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Caught on camera having perhaps anticipated his fate, Dean succinctly declared: "I knew it."

His nonchalance continued as he requested his water bottle from his housemates, making light of what was to be his final moments in the house.

Adding to the drama, however, was an awkward technical glitch that left Dean stuck indoors due to a malfunctioning door, prompting him to jest: "This is the longest goodbye ever!" He stood his ground, insisting: "I'm not leaving through the back door!"

AJ recognised the unusual predicament, telling fans that a pesky technical hitch had kept the exit door firmly closed, delaying Dean's anticipated departure just a tad longer.

Martha was the fourth casualty of the Big Brother house, leaving on Wednesday (October 30) night in a "brutal" and unexpected back door eviction. The 26-year-old NHS administrator was visibly emotional as Big Brother announced her departure on the same day she discovered her nomination.

Instead of the traditional exit through the front door to the cheers of a live audience and greeting from hosts AJ Will, Martha made a subdued departure through a secret exit without fanfare. "Evil" Head of House Emma faced the other housemates as the bombshell dropped that she had nominated them for eviction.

Halloween week is infamous for its harshness, often marked by surprise twists, double evictions, and utter mayhem - this year proved to follow suit. The eviction roster was unveiled after a jaw-dropping Head Of House twist concluded Tuesday's (October 29) episode.

The Halloween week task involved a chilling campfire challenge, with the victor claiming the coveted Head Of House title. A sequence of games eliminated contestants one by one, with losers getting drenched in fake blood.

Emma emerged victorious in the nail-biting final round, soon finding herself summoned to Big Brother's clandestine basement.
