Big Brother plans a major shake up to filming after some unforeseen canal chaos.
As ITV Big Brother gears up for potential future series, producers are scrambling to relocate the iconic house after a nightmare discovery during filming in North West London.
While the fate of the reboot remains uncertain, the decision to scout for a new location stems from unexpected disturbances caused by rowdy revellers along the canal adjacent to Garden Studios in the London Borough of Brent.
According to insider reports, the tranquil vision of contestants arriving at the BB house entrance via boat turned into a nightmare as 'lairy' drunks disrupted filming.
What was initially envisioned as a glamorous James Bond-esque entrance soon sank like a lead balloon when producers realised the canal's 4mph speed limit rendered the idea impractical.
"While the canal seemed like a bonus feature, it quickly became a liability," a source revealed to The Sun. "Producers never anticipated the rowdy behaviour of barge and boat users disrupting the filming process."
While ITV has yet to confirm future series, casting calls have already been issued, hinting at the possibility of more Big Brother madness on the horizon.
However, location woes weren't the only hiccup for the latest series. Fans wasted no time airing their grievances, with some lamenting the absence of beloved hosts Emma Willis and Rylan Clark-Neal.
Twitter became a hotbed of discontent, with viewers expressing disdain for what they perceived as amateurish production.
Taking to X to air their opinions, viewers were quick to find fault. One wrote: "I love BB/CBB, but this production is atrocious and very amateurish. Bring back Emma and Rylan! These two are not BB #CBBUK," whilst a second added: "I still don’t feel right watching without seeing Emma Willis #CBBUK." A third shared: "I wish you were involved Rylan #CBBUK."
Yet, despite the challenges, presenters Will Best and AJ Odudu remained upbeat about their roles in the series. Reflecting on the show's history of iconic moments, Will expressed his excitement, while AJ anticipated the thrill of hosting the celebrity edition.
Will said: "I couldn’t be more excited! Some of the most iconic moments from Big Brother throughout the years have come from the
Celebrity Big Brother series. When people think of Big Brother nowadays they often think of the GC, they think of ‘David’s dead!’ These were all given to us by celebs."
While AJ added at the time: "I'm so excited! Off the back of the success of the civilian show, it’s amazing that we get to host the celebrity series. It’s created such iconic moments in the past - we can’t wait for the 2024 edition!"
Their enthusiasm for the live aspect of the show was palpable, with AJ highlighting the unpredictable nature of live TV and the potential for memorable mishaps.
As the search for a new location heats up and the future of Big Brother hangs in the balance, fans eagerly await news of what's next for the iconic reality franchise.
