The Chase viewers were left divided during the latest instalment on the ITV show after a player branded host Bradley Walsh "so rude" after he made a savage swipe
A contestant on The Chase labelled host Bradley Walsh "so rude" after she was left flummoxed by a challenging question. On Friday's episode (January 24), the former Coronation Street actor and Gladiator's host welcomed four new contestants to the popular ITV quiz show.
The 64 year old introduced Richard, Jess, Rahul, and Jude to the programme to test their general knowledge against Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan. First up was Rahul who impressed Walsh by adding £4,000 to the jackpot in a tense head-to-head round.
Jess from Leeds was less fortunate, being caught by the professional quizzer in record time. Retired policeman Richard then added a substantial £6,000 to the bank.
However, the game took an unexpected twist when final player Jude stepped up. Like her teammate, she wowed viewers by earning £6,000 in her cash-builder round before moving on to the daunting head-to-head round with the 42 year old quizzer.
During this tense round, Walsh asked her: "In Bram Stoker's Dracula, the title character travels to England on a ship called what? A) Hera, B) Aphrodite, or C) Demeter)," reports the Express.
Before Jude could respond, the father-of-two quipped: "Another guess", to which she retorted: "So rude, but yeah, it was. It was a complete guess."
Bradley responded: "Well, honesty is the best policy," to which she retorted: "Well, do you know what? It was an educated guess so let's go with that. Hera and Aphrodite, hmm. Demeter was somewhere in my mind."
Bradley confirmed: "That was a guess. So, the answer was Demeter, you got that right. But the Demeter was called Demeter because it was Demeter", he said as he stretched out his arms. Luckily, the TV personality made it to the final round alongside her successful teammates, amassing a total of £16,000 in the jackpot.
Despite being only three members, the team managed to answer 13 questions correctly within two minutes, but they were no match for the northern lass. Jenny answered 16 questions correctly in a row with 43 seconds left on the clock, leaving the team with nothing.
