Jason Tartick had only good things to say about Nick Viall after the podcaster trolled his ex Kaitlyn Bristowe recently on social media.
“Nick’s a friend. I love Nick,” the “Bachelorette” alum, 35, told Page Six at Maxim’s Super Bowl 2024 party at Resorts World Las Vegas over the weekend when asked about Viall’s apparent dig.
He then added, attempting to divert the conversation, “I think what Nick is doing with his podcast is unreal and, you know what? I like Nick. Nick’s a good guy.”
When pressed further about the comment Viall left on Tartick’s Instagram, the reality star cheekily said, “I’ll leave that up for interpretation.”
Last week, Viall, 43, commented under a shirtless photo of Tartick and pal Tyler Cameron on a beach, “Nothing asexual about this.”
The remark was a reference to comments Bristowe, 38, recently made on her podcast, “Off The Vine,” in which she said she once lost her sex drive while dating an unnamed man.
“I thought I was asexual. I literally thought I was asexual,” she recalled in the Feb. 6 episode.
“I was, like, I think at this point I could see myself more with a woman — I actually thought that — than a man.”
After Vialll chimed in online, some fans came Bristowe’s defense, claiming it was never confirmed her comments were about Tartick.
“why you believe headlines,” one person wrote to Viall. “Listen to the actual podcast, it wasnt about Jason. It was about her hormones and state of being 🙄.”
However, another fan weighed in, “It was [about Tartick]. She said as soon as she left that relationship and started dating, she got her MOJO back.”
Bristowe and Tartick broke up in August 2023 after four years together.
“After sharing the news with family and close friends first, and taking the time to properly process it ourselves, we are saddened with heavy hearts to share that we have decided to end our engagement,” they said in a joint statement at the time.
“We are thankful for all of you who gave us the time and space to process this life altering decision as there are many emotions and changes to navigate.”
Despite appearing civil at first, their friendship soon soured when Bristowe was seen hanging out with fellow Bachelor Nation alum Zac Clark.
The former “Bachelorette” star said on her podcast last month that she thought her ex was “leaning into the victim mentality.”
“I don’t want to dismiss that he’s hurting. I don’t want to dismiss that his feelings are valid,” she added at the time.
“The word disappointed keeps coming up. I feel so disappointed that someone could use a false narrative to garner sympathy for themselves.”
Tartick, for his part, remains single but is ready to mingle. The “Trading Secrets” podcast host also told us at the Maxim party that he was open to playing the field.
He said of any potential romantic prospects, “[I’m] out here single, mingling, all things are going, you know, so we’ll see.”
