Andy Cohen Shuts Down RHOBH Rumor For Good ngocc

Andy Cohen set the record straight on a rumor that he is trying to get Lisa Vanderpump to return to “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”Andy Cohen

Vanderpump, an original RHOBH cast member, appeared in the first nine seasons of the Bravo reality show but stepped away in 2019 amid an ongoing feud with Kyle Richards and other co-stars over the cast’s “PuppyGate” drama.

Speaking on his Sirius XM radio show “Andy Cohen Live,” on January 21, Cohen said, “It was repeated all over the place that I’m trying to get Lisa Vanderpump back on the Housewives of Beverly Hills. Now, let me restate my abject love for Lisa Vanderpump. But I don’t know where the rumor came from and like, I don’t see her coming back to that show.”

Cohen’s co-host John Hill agreed that the Housewives doesn’t need Vanderpump back and she doesn’t need to go back because she’s “got her own thing going on” with other shows and business ventures.

Cohen also noted that Vanderpump isn’t friends with most of the current cast members. “Also, I mean she and Dorit and Kyle are, you know [estranged],” he added. “I guess she’s kind of friends with Garcelle [Beauvais]. But I don’t even think she has any desire or they have any desire to interact.”

Cohen did note that he loves that Vanderpump and Richards tend to run into each other about “once a year” and are forced to interact. “It seems like when they run into each other publicly they have a little shade with each other, which I appreciate,” he said.

The rumor that Cohen addressed may have originated from a source for OK magazine. A source close to production claimed to the outlet, “Rumors have been circulating around Beverly Hills that Andy Cohen wants Lisa Vanderpump to return to ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.'” The insider touted a cast shakeup, adding, “With ‘Vanderpump Rules’ getting completely revamped, it would be the perfect time for that to premiere and to bring Lisa back to the show she was an original cast member on.”

Lisa Vanderpump Has Repeatedly Stated She Will Not Return to RHOBH

Vanderpump will still appear on the “Vanderpump Rules” reboot. She has starred in other TV projects including “Vanderpump Villa,” “Overserved With Lisa Vanderpump,” and more.

She has repeatedly said she has no interest in returning to the Real Housewives franchise.

In an interview with Page Six in 2022, Vanderpump described the show as “a nightmare.” “I’m happy I left. I tried to leave three or four times,” she claimed. “I would never go back,” she added. “That’s a hot mess that I could do without.”

Some fans agreed that she should stay away.

“Hallelujah. It would be absurd to bring her back,” one commenter wrote on Instagram after hearing Cohen’s comments about RHOBH.

“LISA IS HER OWN SHOW 👌🏻 SHE DON’T NEED TO BE AROUND THOSE CATTY [expletive],” another wrote.

Both Richards and Vanderpump have talked about the run-ins they’ve had in the five years since their friendship ended.  During a November 5, 2024 fan Q&A on Amazon Live, Richards described an “interesting” encounter she had with Vanderpump.

“I did see her recently actually and I said hi,” Richards told her Amazon Live followers. “She was with [her husband] Ken. It wasn’t that long ago, like within a month ago or so. And she was actually friendly.  Ken always gives a little kiss or whatever, and she’s a little colder but it was an interesting encounter. It wasn’t bad. It didn’t go badly, I will say that.”

Of the rumor about Cohen wanting Vanderpump to return to RHOBH, Richards joked on her January 21, 2025 Amazon Live, ”I feel like that’s something that always gets thrown out there every now and then, usually by her, but I don’t know.”
