Andy Cohen on son's first day of school.Andy Cohen is going through an emotional time. His son Ben Cohen just marked a big milestone: he started Kindergarten last week.

“So far so good,” the Watch What Happens Live host said on September 6. “He didn’t cry, and neither did I! I’m emotional, though!”

I feel you, Andy. The morning my son walked into the Kindergarten classroom without so much as a glance back at Mommy, I burst into tears and sobbed to the car. At least Andy’s still got another one at home. His daughter Lucy is only two, so she’ll be around for a while.

Andy Cohen is on Daddy duty

Earlier this week, Andy shared an Instagram photo of his son’s brand new desk with a “welcome to kindergarten” sign alongside three happy-crying emojis. He also shared his feelings about Ben’s big day with The Daily Dish.

Back in February 2024, Andy marked Ben’s fifth birthday by admitting that Ben “couldn’t make me happier.” He then went on to celebrate Ben’s birthday during an episode of WWHL by counting down the Top Five Things he’s learned about being a dad since welcoming little Benjamin into his family in 2019.

Number 5: “Breakfast food is a very loose concept. Turns out it’s just about putting something in your stomach.”

Number 4: “Elsa is completely overrated. Anna is the star of Frozen. That’s Ben Cohen.” I read Andy’s book Daddy Diaries: The Year I Grew Up. Ben’s huge crush on Anna is well-documented.

Number 3: “Hot Wheels race tracks are next to impossible to keep fastened … Don’t get me started.”

Number 2: “You can have many Halloween costumes.” True. Why limit yourself?

Number 1: “The Number One thing Ben taught me this year, and every year, is that you can find joy in just about anything. Happy birthday, buddy, I love you.”

Fatherhood looks good on you, Andy. It makes me happy to see you so happy and cherishing every day with your little ones. Mazel!
