Andy Cohen is reacting to Erika Jayne saying she wants to see Kyle Richards “eviscerated” at the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion and commenting on the ongoing backlash against the series’ newest cast member, Annemarie Wiley, on social media.
Days after Erika, 52, encouraged Andy, 55, to hit Kyle, 55, with tough questions at this week’s reunion taping about her separation from Mauricio Umansky, 53, on Watch What Happens Live, citing the grilling she got amid her messy split from Thomas Girardi, 84, Andy weighed in on the matter as he also spoke of the upcoming 11th season of Vanderpump Rules.
“My plan is never to eviscerate anyone, but I always ask the questions that need to be asked,” Andy told Entertainment Tonight on January 22. “Kyle has been very forthcoming with me since we wrapped filming about where she is with Mauricio. I expect that to continue at the reunion, which we tape on Friday.”
On Andy’s late-night talk show last week, after Erika said that “as somebody who got eviscerated, [she] would like to see everybody get the same treatment,” Andy defended Kyle, noting that during her own WWHL appearance, she “answered every question [he] had for her.”
Moving on to Annemarie, 40, who is in the midst of feuds with both Sutton Stracke, 52, and Crystal Kung-Minkoff, 40, over her comments about Sutton’s esophagus and her profession, Andy admitted he’s disappointed by the online backlash.
“I want everyone to succeed,” he noted. “Social media is completely toxic and nasty and it is also something that you can’t be prepared for. It’s a nasty world.”
He then urged viewers to keep watching, teasing the RHOBH cast’s trip to Spain.
“I think the viewers will see a new side of Annemarie on the Spain trip,” he suggested.
Andy then opened up about the new season of Pump Rules, hinting that fans will see the cast coming back together after “Scandoval” saw Tom Sandoval, 41, getting caught cheating on Ariana Madix, 38, with co-star Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, 29.
“I think they’re all kind of evolving,” he shared. “You have to remember, when we shot the reunion, it was like two weeks after they had found this all out. They were so hot. So now temperatures have cooled down a bit, and I think they’re all more able to get together and not spill blood.”
