Though Paige Tillman and Josh Simmons weren’t prominently featured on the Netflix’s show’s fifth season, they “fell deeply in love” and got very close to saying “I do” — get the scoop on their love story
A Love Is Blind season 5 couple is sharing their untold story for the first time!
Paige Tillman and Josh Simmons went on season 5 of the Netflix hit in hopes of finding a life partner and left an engaged couple. Though their story wasn’t shown in the first seven episodes of the season, Tillman said they were each other’s “first pod dates and number one picks from the beginning” in a joint Instagram post with Simmons, shared Wednesday.
“Our story is filled with love, beautiful moments and happiness with no drama,” she wrote alongside a montage of photos and videos of the couple looking loved up and carefree as they enjoyed life together outside the pods.
Tillman continued, “After the show we stayed engaged and even planned our wedding.”
However, as they navigated life in the real world after falling in love in the pods, they “found out we just wanted different things out of life.”
The two have since “made the hardest decision to end our engagement,” but note that they have “nothing but love and respect for each other and always will.”
The couple added that they “fell deeply in love” thanks to Love Is Blind, and are “so grateful” that the show brought them into each other’s lives.
“Would do it all over again if we could 🤍,” the pair concluded the statement.
Hours after sharing their love story — and the reveal that it has since ended — Tillman posted a brief video on her Instagram Story thanking people for their support in light of the news.
“Hey, y’all. I just wanted to get on here and quickly say thank you all so much for the beautiful, sweet messages and comments,” she said. “Everyone’s been really kind today and it means a lot to me.”
Of sharing the story after keeping it under wraps for weeks, she said, “It’s definitely an overwhelming, emotional feeling to finally share this with news as we kept it in for so long.”
She concluded the video statement with another message of gratitude for the public support and added, “I will speak more on this when I can.”
In respective Instagram posts shared earlier this month, both Tillman and Simmons had shared their excitement about being cast on the Netflix blind-dating series.
“Took a chance and decided to go on season 5 of @loveisblindnetflix!” Simmons wrote in a post, encouraging his followers to “follow the wild journey to possibly find love!”
Tillman, who founded and owns her own store, announced on Instagram that she’d been cast on the show and wrote: “Secrets out and I’m so excited to share that I’m on @loveisblindnetflix Season 5!!”
On Sept. 22, when the first four episodes of the season dropped on Netflix, Tillman shared another post. “The pods are open to find love! I cannot wait to share my journey with y’all 💜,” she wrote alongside two photos of some of the other women in the cast.
