Summer House's Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke on Split Rumors, Family Plans, and How Lindsay Hubbard's Pregnancy Impacted Season 9, Plus Amanda Talks Swim Line and Involvement With Loverboy

Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke reacted to the latest round of split rumors while attending Lindsay Hubbard‘s baby shower on Saturday.

While Amanda, 33, offered an update on her career endeavors, dishing on her new swimsuit line and sharing how involved she is with Loverboy, she and Kyle, 42, spoke of their plans to start a family, shared how Lindsay’s pregnancy impacted season nine of Summer House, and revealed how they think Lindsay, 38, will be as a mom.

“Nothing’s new. I feel like everyone would know if something was truly going on … People read us like an open book,” Amanda admitted during an October 26 interview with Entertainment Tonight after being asked about a potential breakup. “The main thing is that I’m normally seen without my wedding ring on, and I forgot to put it on again today. It’s not intentional. I just forget. It means nothing. I promise you. Everyone knows I’m married.”

“When there’s not a show airing I feel like people read between lines that don’t exist. They’re just looking for something,” added Kyle.

While Amanda and Kyle aren’t headed for a split, they also aren’t quite ready for kids.

“We’re booked and busy. No plans for kids yet. We know we want them eventually, but I feel like we have so much going on right now that we’re kind of hitting our stride in a few things, but it will happen,” Amanda noted. “I’m glad Lindsay did it first because I don’t think I’d ever be the first one to have a kid, I knew that. I knew I was waiting for Lindsay.”

Meanwhile, Kyle acknowledged that just a few years ago, he and Amanda “envisioned having at least one by now.”

“But you can’t plan for everything,” he reasoned. “We have a lot going on. Every DJ event is usually intertwined with Loverboy. Loverboy is my full-time job, and I know that when I’m a dad, I don’t want to be an absentee dad. So I’m kind of getting all the travels and all the hard work, hopefully, under my belt and out of the way by the time we’re ready.”

Speaking of Lindsay, who is expecting her first child with boyfriend Turner Kufe in the coming weeks, Amanda and Kyle both expressed excitement for their co-star.

“[We’re] very excited for her, very happy. She’s always wanted this and she’s gonna be amazing. She’s been amazing this whole time so I can’t wait,” Amanda gushed.

“She’s always wanted to be a mom,” Kyle agreed. “It’s not always easy and it doesn’t always happen when you want, but when it did, I was super happy for her … and I’m happy she’s having a little baby girl.”

Throughout filming on season nine, Amanda said that she and her castmates “felt very protective of Lindsay.”

“It kind of felt like we were all pregnant. We used her as an excuse a lot. I was like, ‘I can’t do that. Lindsay’s pregnant.’ I think it was a really necessary and nice thing to bring us all together. So thank you, Lindsay, for getting pregnant,” Amanda joked.

As for Kyle, he seconded Amanda’s feeling of having grown closer as a group as he applauded Lindsay and her ex-fiance, Carl Radke, 39, for being able to come together.

“I think a lot of people going into the summer were kind of curious how we would all co-exist, what’s it gonna be like, and I have to give Lindsay and Carl a lot of props and respect because they handled it really well,” he shared. “I think that was probably one of the most unnatural things for the cast to be in, for there to be exes in the same house. It was a bit of an experiment, but I think we all came out on the other end much better.”

Regarding how they think Lindsay will be as a mom, Amanda said she’d be the “best mother,” and Kyle suspected she’d be a “helicopter parent.”

“We’ve seen how much love and nurturing she has in her, and I think when she has her little girl, she’s going to go into protective mode 10 times over,” she noted. “That girl’s gonna run the world. I wouldn’t be surprised if her baby was president one day … and I can’t wait to see her go into this next chapter.”

Also during the interview, after offering an update on her new swimsuit line and confirming she’s currently in fittings to perfect her pieces, Amanda revealed that she’s still involved with Loverboy.

“I’m working more high level on bigger projects. We’re coming out with a new flavor soon. I had my hands in that with the tasting, design, everything. We have a completely new product that I’ve been fully immersed in. So I’m doing the bigger new stuff that affects the brand and then the smaller day-to-day tasks I’m not a part of,” she explained.

Summer House season nine is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime early next year.
