Alexia Emotionally Breaks the Fourth Wall Over Todd Split: "I Will Step Down From the Show" tram

Alexia Nepola would have done almost anything to save her and Todd Nepola's marriage — including potentially leaving The Real Housewives of Miami.

She said as much during Season 7, Episode 2, while dining with Julia Lemigova, Kiki Barth, Marysol Patton, and other friends, as she described some of the issues that led Todd to "blindside" her with a divorce filing in April 2024.

"Basically, the story was that he didn't like the show life," Alexia told the group, referring to RHOM in a fourth wall-breaking moment. "I said, 'Todd, I will step down from the show. … You and my family are more important. I see myself with you for the rest of my life.' And then he goes, 'Well, it's too late already.'"

In a confessional, Alexia further explained that Todd "liked the show from the beginning," but as the episodes aired, he "didn’t like the way he saw himself or the public saw him." She theorized, "The show bothered him because he couldn't control it."

The Ay Por Favor podcast co-host echoed that sentiment at dinner, elaborating, "It's not that he doesn't like the show. He doesn't like the power that the show gives me. And he doesn't like my friend group … because it's all about control. And he wants to control the narrative."

According to Alexia, about five or six months had passed since Todd filed for divorce, and, at that point, the courts were "forcing him to either dismiss it and drop it or to proceed." As such, she felt like she was in "an emotional limbo" waiting for him to decide the fate of their marriage.

"I feel like the ball is in his court," she told her friends. "So, we've been walking on eggshells."

Earlier in RHOM's June 18 episode, Alexia admitted to Julia that she hoped Todd wouldn't "proceed with" the divorce.

"Honestly, like years ago, I would've been done," she shared. "For five months, I've put so much effort into saving my marriage. So, you know, I guess I'll just have to accept it and, you know, say … 'This is what God wanted, and God has the plan.' But, yeah, I'm super anxious."

As fans now know, however, Todd decided to move forward with the legal process, and he and Alexia finalized their divorce in March 2025. However, they are still together as an unmarried couple.

Before those decisions were made, Alexia had still expressed doubts about her and Todd's future.

"I'm still in love with this man," she added in Season 7’s second episode. "But it's kind of like I think he's been playing me."

The Alexia + Frankie's Beauty Bar owner tearfully claimed that her then-estranged husband had taken "no accountability" for "this s–t" he’d done, including covertly moving out of their shared home without warning, "like a coward," while she was out meeting her son, Peter Rosello.

"I don't even know him. He's like a total stranger," Alexia said in a confessional. "It's like I've been sleeping with the enemy for eight years."

What's more, she declared that Todd didn't give her the "emotional safety" that she needed, describing their "fake rented" apartment and car as "temporary" and claiming they actually owned "nothing."

"I'm weak when it comes to this man," Alexia continued, referencing "narcissist" Todd. "That's why I'm so mad at myself, that I f–king allowed this. … And I'm still attracted to this f–king asshole."

Further describing Todd as a "f–king monster," she concluded, "I can't go back to this guy."
