During her time on the Bachelor Nation shows, Abigail opened up about her hearing loss and how she wears a cochlear implant.
And since then, she’s continued to share her experience with her followers on social media about being deaf and wearing cochlear implants.
Now, she’s opening up online about hateful comments she receives on her posts about her deaf accent.
In a new video on her TikTok page, Abigail said, “I spent years in speech therapy learning how to speak ‘normally’ and people still make fun of my voice to this day. Some of my content, more so my branded content, has been getting pushed out to an audience that doesn’t necessarily follow me and doesn’t know that I’m deaf and that I have a deaf accent. Regardless, why is it okay to comment things like this on somebody’s page when you don’t know anything about them.”

She showed comments that say things like “The cadence of her voice is absolutely cringe,” “Take the sock out of your mouf,” and, “I wouldn’t talk her voice is irritating.”
She went on, sharing, “I know some of you guys will say this is what you signed up for when you agreed to do social media. I would in turn ask why have we accepted that this is okay to post about someone, especially onlinem that you don’t know?”
And while she receives hate, Abi remains positive, saying, “My voice does sound different and it always has. It also sounds a lot different when I take out my cochlear processor… I have grown to love my deaf accent.”
We love Abigail and we love how vulnerable she is with her content. We know her continuing to share her experience helps so many others. And if you got something negative to say about Abi, stay outta here!
