A month on from Love Is Blind, Alex and Tim are STILL arguing

‘I don’t think it was real. It was a performance’

It’s been a month since the Love Is Blind finale aired, and Alex and Tim are still arguing online. Their relationship had always been rocky from the minute they stepped out of the pods, but at the reunion, they argued like no one else. The couple revealed at the Love Is Blind season seven reunion they hadn’t spoken since filming the show, and host Vanessa Lachey suggested they talk in private. However, that didn’t happen, and things just seemed to be getting worse and worse for them.

Alex recently gave an interview to The Things in which she threw some serious shade at Tim.

Did they actually speak after the reunion?

In the interview, Alex spilled a lot of drama about where the two stood now and if they actually did speak after the reunion like Vanessa encouraged them to. Of course, the answer was no! Tim and Alex couldn’t go five minutes without arguing at the Love Is Blind reunion.

In the pods

Going back to the pods, Alex said Tim was completely different.

“It seemed very easy, very genuine and, you know, he was just like a big teddy bear. He was very just kind… very lovable. But when we got out of the pods, it was kind of like a 180. He was really like very stern,” she recalled.

However, once they left the pods she said Tim “expected” her to already know his preferences when she’d “only known him for like two weeks.” She wished they’d had more time to learn about each other.

She also noted that “actions have to kind of match and they weren’t really matching” when it came to Tim’s behaviour, but she gave him the “benefit of the doubt” because he didn’t feel like himself surrounded by cameras.

The dreaded holiday

Alex and Tim got into a huge fight in Cabo which wasn’t filmed by the camera crew. What we do know is that Tim started raising his voice and Alex covered his mouth with her hand to stop him. This has always been considered the turning point in their relationship, but Alex explained “before the whole argument, [the relationship] still was somewhat off.”

“I don’t think he really just got over it,” Alex said. “He was still angry about what I called him, and he never got over it. And if he never got over it, we should have just never left Mexico together.”

She said after their holiday, she felt Tim become more “intense” and tried to make it seem like he was “the man” in their relationship. That dynamic made it difficult for Alex to be her “own person” in the future.

Was it ever real?

In what was probably the shadiest part of the interview, Alex was asked if she thought Tim’s letter to her father was genuine. Tim’s letter had us all in tears at home and was definitely one of the most heartfelt moments of the series. In response to the question, Alex said “I don’t think it was real. It was a performance.”

So… what now?

It’s pretty clear Alex and Tim will not be making amends any time soon, especially after Alex dressed up as a nap queen for Halloween this year. This will never not be funny.

In another remark, Alex said she’d been seeing other people since the show but didn’t want to bring any of the “baggage” she’d been left with in her relationship with Tim into a new one. She said she’ll never again be so “self-sacrificing for somebody else’s comfort.”

Has Tim responded?

It’s not clear whether Tim has seen the interview, but he posted an Instagram story last night with the caption “I really don’t be doin’ s**t” accompanied by a video of him sitting on the sofa on his phone. It seems like if there is any drama, he may not want to be involved in it anymore.
