A Hidden Haven: Chelsea Meissner Reveals Her Peaceful Backyard Getaway tram

Chelsea Meissner is sharing a peek at the gorgeous backyard at her Charleston home.

On April 16, the Southern Charm alum hopped on her Instagram to share an edited video of her beautiful open space, which featured an in-ground pool and stunning lounge chairs with cream-colored cushions and striped pillows.

"A look into my little slice of heaven," Chelsea began in the caption of the post, which also showed her chicken coop and chickens. "Martha Stewart once said, 'If you want to be happy for a year, get married. If you want to be happy for a decade, get a dog. And if you want to be happy for the rest of your life, make a garden.' Until I find a cowboy, I guess fresh tomatoes and chickens will do."

In addition to showing off her garden and lush greenery, Chelsea also revealed another backyard activity: archery. "Also, no animals were harmed in the making of this video, so relax... I just enjoy a little backyard archery," she concluded in the post.

Chelsea Meissner reveals her backyard chicken coop

Chelsea introduced the newest members of her family — a group of baby chickens —  earlier this month. In a video, she showed off a “custom brooder box” built by her brother, Kyle Meissner, and captioned it, “Expanding the flock!”

Chelsea gave followers a close-up look at four fluffy chicks inside the wooden enclosure, which was equipped with a heat lamp, pine shavings, a feeder, and a waterer.

Raising chickens isn’t new for Chelsea. Back in 2012, while competing on Survivor: One World, she impressed her fellow castaways by catching chickens with her bare hands. In a red-carpet interview with Reality TV Magazine, Chelsea credited her farm-life upbringing for that unexpected survival skill.

Chelsea Meissner posts little chicks in their coop and in a human hand on Instagram.
“I was raised on a farm. We did have chickens around,” she told the outlet. “I didn’t run out and practice catching chickens. Honestly, that was straight luck. What’s funny about that is I’m out there in camo, and I’m the country girl and people expect me to do something like that (catch chickens), but that surprised me. When I caught both of those chickens, I was like, ‘Maybe I am the redneck girl out here. I better just live this up while it lasts.’ That was cool.”

Chelsea Meissner shares a career update

In addition to sharing details about her home, Chelsea also spoke about her current career situation during a recent Instagram Q&A session. Though the Charleston resident noted she still worked as a hairstylist, she said she decreased her workload since welcoming her first child in 2023.

“Yes.. 3 days a week,” she wrote when a follower asked if she still does hair. “However, I haven’t taken on new clients [in] many years.”
